Fabrication of nanocrystalline aluminium islands using double-surface anodization
A technique of double-surface anodization to fabricate Al nanoislands as small as about 3 nm in lateral dimensions, embedded in porous alumina, was demonstrated. The size of the islands varied over a wide range due to the absence of hexagonal spatial ordering of the pores.
