Description
Summary:Following discussion with the Undergraduate Representative for MSD, we identified a demand for bespoke training focused on topics particularly relevant to science undergraduates. In May 2022, we launched ‘iSkills for Undergraduates in Science’. It is a programme for all years of study and for all courses in the MPLS and MSD divisions. We developed sessions covering Virtual Reality and 3D Printing, reference management, and effective literature searching. Hour long sessions were scheduled for 5 pm delivery to enable attendance after lectures, labs, and tutorials. A mixture of online and in-person delivery was trialled to evaluate students’ preferred format. We intend to expand the programme with additional topics such as Research Data Management when we review student feedback.
