2 PEROVSKITE-RELATED MATERIALS FOR FUTURE SUPERCONDUCTIVITY

We report preliminary investigations of the preparation of alkali-reduced Aurivillius phases, and of the synthesis of YBaCu-CoO5. Two new compounds, MxBi2W2O9 (M = K, Rb), have been prepared by reaction of elemental K or Rb vapour on bismuth tungstate. The possibilities - and potential difficulties...
