Description
Summary:We review our current understanding of thermally pulsing AGB evolution, with emphasis on quantitative uncertainties in the third dredge-up process. We describe results obtained with an implicit and simultaneous method of solving for stellar structure, convective mixing and nuclear burning, using Eggleton's stellar evolution code, and compare these with other recent results. We also briefly discuss the importance of binary stars in the context of AGB evolution and nucleosynthesis.
