Description
Summary:In this thesis, 47 estimates from 10 papers studying partial naivety in present bias were examined, focusing on elicitation and estimation of present bias, perceived present bias, and naivety. For these three parameters concerned, meta-analyses were conducted to determine the synthesis between estimates and potential sources of heterogeneity. Both time consistency and sophistication can be rejected from the synthesis result, while the heterogeneity analysis points out several possibilities causing the estimates’ variation.
