Περίληψη: | The role of volcanic eruptions in the origin and growth of the planet Earth is discussed. The research indicate the presence of nitric acid in the atmosphere and nitrogen is the major component of the Earth's atmosphere. The measurements on various volcanoes show that volcanic heat can process the atmosphere and fix nitrogen and from these measurements it is possible to estimate a thermal fixation efficiency. The estimation of the heat released by high temperature cooled lava show that volcanoes have played a major role in fixing the atmospheric nitrogen and thus the first Earth's atmosphere. |
