Samenvatting: | A model based on leaky transmission line was developed to assess the electrical performance of transparent current spreading layers for application to surface light emitting diodes. The model is applied to conductive transparent spreading layers of the type used for optoelectronic devices. Figures of merit based on the approximate exponential decay length and the fraction of total current injected radially into the spreading layer were proposed as a basis for evaluating potential material systems. It was concluded that current spreading layers with electrical characteristics approaching their performance limit could also be achieved. |
