description Aphrodisias is located in the inner parts of the ancient Caria region, in today's Aydın province, Karacasu district, Geyre District. The city was famous for its sculptural works and the local cult of Aphrodite in ancient times. The city's monuments and artifacts from the Roman period and Late Antiquity are exceptionally well preserved, and the life that continued in the area from the early Roman Imperial Period until the 1970s, when Geyre Village was moved out of the ancient city, can be followed very well archaeologically. The ancient city of Aphrodisias was registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2017. The main reason for this is that the city is well preserved and the ancient sculptural processes and honor culture can be well documented in the area. Today, the excavations carried out in cooperation with New York and Oxford Universities focus on six main research topics: 1) Tetrapylon Street 2) Basilica and Diocletian's Price Edict 3) Palm Park (South Agora) and Pool 4) Sebasteion Temple 5) Kybele House 6) Museum Courtyard Exhibition Hall. The main aims of the research project are to understand and publish all historical processes of the city; To research the unearthed structures and works with all their processes and publish them with their contexts, to protect, maintain and repair them and to ensure their continuity; To ensure that works and monuments become accessible and understandable to visitors. This article is a summary and compilation of excavation results reports of the last 8 years.
