Summary: | This short paper presents for the first time the original Sanskrit of an important Mahāyāna text, the Candragomipraṇidhāna. The fragment used here survives in a bundle of scattered leaves in the Kaiser Library, Kathmandu. Unfortunately, the margins are damaged, hence only a portion of the work can be recovered. Nevertheless, even the extant portion can serve to rectify some misunderstandings of the Tibetan translators. In addition, it would seem that this version is a recension different from the one that served as the basis for the Tibetan translation. |
