description Oxford University has one of the largest research libraries in the world. However, the academic libraries which comprise Oxford University Library Service vary in scope, size, staff and location. As access to digital research material becomes widespread, web access can reduce these variations. The Web management group at OULS fosters an integrated web portal, but still allows libraries the autonomy that is an expected part of Oxford's federated structure. This case study discusses the issues involved when integrating the diverse libraries into a common portal.
