A monoclonal antibody specific for rat immunoglobulin kappa chains was coupled to red blood cells and used to detect binding of rat monoclonal antibodies to cells attached to the wells of microtitre plates. The method was found to be simpler and more rapid than the alternative enzyme-linked binding assay and useful for rapid screening and selection of antibodies for use as differentiation markers of human and mouse haemopoietic cells. |
