Description
Summary:A range of monocyclic and bicyclic alkenols were synthesised via acid catalysed ring-opening cyclisation of homballylic tetrahydropyranyl ether derivatives in excellent yield. Upon palladium catalysed hydrogenation these products were reduced with excellent diastereoselectivity to the corresponding saturated cyclic alcohols in essentially quantitative yield. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2000.
