| Summary: | <p>The reviews, abstracts and bibliography presented in this paper fOIm one output of a three year project to investigate the sustainability of small-scale production and trading activities based on non-timber forest products (NTFPs) that contribute to household incomes. Other components of this project include an examination of data from small-scale enterprise surveys in a number of countries in southern and eastern Africa; a household-based survey of income-generating NTFP activities in the forest zone of southern Ghana and; a related study of small-scale woodworking enterprises in Ghana! .
