FREE-RADICAL REARRANGEMENT OF ALKENYL EPOXY SILANES - ISOLATION OF ALPHA-TRIMETHYLSILYL ALDEHYDES
The thiyl-radical induced fragmentation of alkenyl epoxy silanes has been found to afford α-trimethylsilyl aldehydes as the immediate products. These may be isolated, rearranged to trimethylsilyl dienol ethers, or converted to 1,3-dienes with high stereoselectivity. © 1994.
