Sumari:It is an important time to be teaching geopolitics so as to equip students to better understand the contemporary world. Model UNPO role-play and debating exercises engages young people with issues facing some of the world’s most marginalised communities. Using such simulations in the classroom provides an interactive and engaging way to teach global governance, developing place-specific knowledge and understanding of geopolitical processes and concepts. It exposes students to a wide range of non-state actors, facilitates critical thinking about the interstate system, helps develop soft skills, and can serve as an activity to facilitate the transition to university and future careers.
