Description
Summary:The radiofrequency and microwave spectra of 84KrH35Cl, 84KrH37Cl, 86KrH35Cl, 82KrH35Cl and 84KrD35Cl have been measured by molecular beam electric resonance spectroscopy. Only transitions with the ground vibrational state have been observed. Molecular constants as small as the nuclear spin-spin and spin-rotation interactions have been determined as well as the centrifugal distortion of the chlorine quadrupole coupling constant. Effective structures for the different isotopic species are presented and the data is shown to be consistent with a linear equilibrium geometry with the atomic arrangement KrHCl. The structure and bonding of the complex are compared with those of NeHCl, ArHCl and XeHCl. © 1980.
