Description
Summary:Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are organic compounds that containing carbon and hydrogen atoms. The PAHs commonly are formed from natural or nonanthropogenica nd also anthropogenics ources.Termite nests samples were collected from Muaya Conservation Area, Sipitang. The sample were collected using a method as plan to conserve the compound that need to be characterize and identify in the laboratory. The sample then extracted using Soxhiet extraction method and cleaned by using the column chromatography method. The collected fraction of Naphthalene, Phenanthrene and Perylene as one of PAHs compounds was spiked into the gas chromatography-masss elective detector (GC-MSD)f or analysis. The result shows that there is no Perylene presence but there some result can be claim as Perylene and Perylene precursors in the sample that was collected. Besides that, Naphthalene and Phenanthrene compounds were exist. The presence of the Naphthalene, Phenanthrene and Perylene and Perylene precursors compounds because of the presence of the termites, soil, fungi and surroundings
