The carbon footprint is used to describe air pollution produced by human production activities. The carbon footprint generated by the use of electricity is called a power carbon footprint or an electricity carbon footprint. This study briefly calculated the carbon footprint of Shanghai and Tianjin from 2005 to 2015, and briefly analyzed the relationship between electricity use and greenhouse gas pollution in the municipalities.
