description Many areas of the monolithic technology development have not been explored. These include monolith durability against different operating conditions, monolith sensitivity against different biomolecules extracts as well as reusability of monoliths. This project aimed at investigating the suitability and scalability of monoliths used as a chromatographic support for the purification of biomolecules. Generally, the project incorporated a series of laboratory works mainly monolith synthesis, regeneration/propagation, chromatographic purification and quality assessment. Results from this study have provided more insights on the real-life problems of monolithic chromatography of biomolecules that could be useful for process scaling-up.
