Two bisphenols containing azomethine groups namely, 3,3'-dimethoxy-4,4'dihydroxy- N-benzylidene-o-tolidine (I) and 4,4' -dihydroxy-N-benzylidene-o-tolidine (II) were synthesized by reaction of o-tolidine with vanillin and phydroxybenzaldehyde.
