Perkembangan bermusim mikroalga kutub adalah dikawal oleh faktor abiotik dan pertumbuhan mikroalga semasa musim panas dikawal oleh keamatan cahaya selepas musim sejuk kutub yang gelap. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk menentukan tindakbalas biokimia semasa fasa pertumbuhan Chlorophyta dibawah keadaan persekitaran yang berbeza.
