Description
Summary:This project about the mine reclamation at Rahman Hydraulic Tin Sdn Bhd (RHT) in Klian Intan, Malaysia with using the software geographic information system (GIS IDRISI SELVA EDITION). One of the largest open pin tin mine in Malaysia. RHT is open pit mine with 7 mining lease that covered about 700 hectares total area which included open pit about 50 hectares. On that basic, Rahman Hydraulic Tin Sdn Bhd (RHT) had entrusted to Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to conduct this project. The given map can be topographic maps and satellite maps. The topographic map is drawn in AutoCAD software. The data obtained use for analyse the relationship of geographic map data with the environment assessment. The surface mining reclamation is important as to return the mine into sustainability and nature earth. The study of this project is reclaiming the mining tin mine site into nature earth forest or grassland and restoration of land damages by afforestation or reforestation. Thus, analyse the rehabilitation progress at the mine site with a suitable plant species. The data from maps are analyses by GIS to calculate the total area of tailing ponds, profiling analysis of height of terrain using digital elevation model (DEM), and the orthographic perspective display can help visualize the surface within the area of the site with three-dimensional (3-D) perspective view.
