description Carbon monoxide (CO) is a highly toxic gas which consists of one carbon atom that is covalently bonded to one oxygen atom. CO is formed when there is a lack of oxygen in the combustion process. As the passenger’s inhale CO, the ability of the blood to carry oxygen inside the cell reduces, causing the cell to die due to lack of oxygen. The passengers can face death if they continue to breathe with the same recycled air in the car. The gas is not easy to detect as it is colourless and odourless. This gas can strike anyone, adults and children regardless of the age limit. The symptoms of simple acute poisoning include headache and flu. If we inhaled air that contains a lot of CO, it can cause shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting and more worries can lead to death.
