Summary:This study aimed to explore the problems of learning Malay Languages among students SJKC in Batu Pahat, Johor. Sample of this study consisted of six Year 5 students who were randomly selected based on certain criteria. This study is a qualitative study and interview instrument was used in data collection. Triangulation of data is carried out by interviews with teacher respondents and document analysis. The collected data were analyzed by keyword coding and thematic analysis. There are four main aspects in the study that are student perspectives, role of parents support, peer pressure and the circumstances of using Malay languages in schools. The results showed that the role of parents is the most important factor in influencing student achievement in Malay Language. Next, the student perspective also shows that low levels achievement student normally not interest in learning Malay. Peer influence and the use of Malay Language in school is not the main factor affecting learning problems. Therefore, it can be concluded that the most important aspect in student learning problems is the role of parents and followed by peer influence.
