Summary:This study was conducted for the purpose of examining the level of competence of teachers on the practice of using microcontrollers in RBT subjects in secondary schools in Johor Bahru. In addition, the extent of teachers' competence on the practice of using microcontrollers in RBT subjects in secondary schools in Johor Bahru district. ? Therefore, in this study consists of four objectives of the study, namely to identify the level of competence of teachers on the use of microcontrollers in terms of knowledge in the subject of Design and Technology, identify the level of competence of teachers on the use of microcontrollers in terms of attitude in the subject of Design and Technology, identify the level of teacher competence on the use of microcontrollers in terms of teaching beliefs in the subject of Design and Technology as well as identify the relationship between the level of knowledge competence in the use of microcontrollers in the subject of Design and Technology on the gender of teachers. The scope of this study covers RBT teachers who teach in the district of Johor Bahru. Furthermore, this study was also conducted using a questionnaire form instrument. Next, the data obtained were analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16.0. However, the results of the study found that the level of competence of teachers on the practice of using microcontrollers in RBT subjects in secondary schools in Johor Bahru is still at a satisfactory level. Therefore, with the existence of this study can be a guide to increase knowledge to RBT teachers in particular more effectively.
