description Reverberation Time study has been conducted at Masjid Jamek Pekan Yong Peng, Batu Pahat, Johor and Masjid Jamek Kampung Rimba Terjun, Pontian, Johor. The main aim of the study was to investigate the effect of concrete ventilated block toward the measured and predicted RT60. This concrete ventilated block is a form of perforated wall. This is rather unique wall as it only applicable in country like Malaysia where the weather is reasonably same throughout the year. The mosques are rather unique as almost 165 m 2 and 75 m 2 of its wall panel is made up from geometric pattern concrete ventilated block. The use of geometric pattern concrete ventilated block is gaining its popularity, as the ventilated block is able to allow sound to pass through to the other side of the panel rather easily. The ability of sound to pass through the ventilated block panel is envisaged that the block is able to act as sound absorber material. At this stage, it is pertinent to understand the contribution of sound absorption coefficient of concrete ventilated block toward the RT60 measured inside these mosques. This is considering RT60 is one of the acoustic quality indicators of an enclosed room such as mosques.
