Summary:It is time for the countries in Southeast Asia to take concrete action in order to tackle global warming all over the world. This paper discusses planning guidelines of neighborhood areas in consideration of wind flow in Malaysia from the following two aspects. Firstly, the effects of natural ventilation on energy saving among hauseholds are examined through a questionnaire survey. Secondly, this paper investigates physical wind environment in the same case study areas through wind tunnel tests. It aims to help achieve energy efficient cities in Southeast Asian countries as well as Malaysia.
