Description
Summary:In this paper, the design of a programmable electronic circuit for a red-green-blue (RGB) light emitting diode (LED) to be used in an optical fiber sensor system is presented and discussed. The LED is to be used as a light transmitter (source) within the sensor system design. This idea and architecture for the mixed-signal electronic circuit design is considered for both a discrete implementation using off-the-shelf components and as an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) solution using 0.35 μm complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) fabrication process. In this paper, the design operation principles, simulation results and the hardware requirements for this LED driver circuit are considered.
