description This study discusses the issues and future trends of teaching and learning physical education subject. The finding is elicited from a preliminary study through an interview conducted with four physical education teachers. Three issues and a suggestion were identified after conducting a thematic analysis of the interview transcript. The issues are time factor in physical education class, teaching method, students' reaction during physical education class and future trends in teaching and learning physical education. Physical education is important for a child's development from the cognitive, social and physical health aspect. Physical education is not emphasized in school. Several recommendation and suggestion are also discussed at the end of this study. Based on the findings, a new teaching method must be devised to prevent the lack of interest in learning physical education in the classroom.
