description | This paper present the method of burning gaseous fuel at two different places, i.e. in the swirler vane passages and at the exit plane of the first combustor for a two stage combustion system. The present work only used natural gas. The effect of injecting the secondary fuel has a vast influence on reducing emissions of oxides of nitrogen. The reduction was found to be greater than 50% even at near stoichiometric conditions. The secondary fuel acted as a reducing element for the thoroughly formed oxides of nitrogen from the first stage combustion. |
