The aluminosilicates exhibit high selectivity towards acetalization reaction in comparison with the homogeneous PTSA. The presence of mesoporous structures is crucial for increased conversion and selectivity of the reaction which presumably due to the improved diffusion of substrate to reach acid sites. |
