description | Workplace safety is important in healthcare sector as people’s lives are at risk if safety is ignored or neglected.Nurses interact daily with patients
and the general public hence safety behaviour amongst nurses is pertinent. To what extent perceived workplace safety practices influence
such behaviour is the main aim of the study.A survey among 278 nurses working in public hospitals in Malaysia was carried out to meet this
objective.Using multiple regression analysis, the present study further observed that nurses’ perceived compliance with safety behaviour was
significantly and positively influenced by perceived practices in co-worker safety, supervisor safety, and satisfaction with safety practices. The research findings have important implications for management of hospital on the need to enhance their workplace safety practices. |
