these institutions have attracted limited research attention.The literature review suggests that MFIs as a field of study have received minimal theoretical as well as empirical contributions. Based on the literature review and findings of past studies, this paper identifies the research gaps and attempts to provide a research agenda for examining MFIs in Nigeria.The paper specifically emphasizes on the shortcomings of previous studies as well as highlights the issues and areas of research in MFIs that need to be addressed empirically. |
