description | Managing environment has been critical over the past years. Malaysia was known to restrict challenges on environmental issue on locus standi ground. Was the court really harsh for not giving the locus standi or standing to sue to the general public. This paper seeks to examine the court attitude in deciding on environmental issues. The courts inclination of not granting the locus standi was due to the need to give regards to development much to the benefit of the society. Be that as it may development should go hand in hand with environment protection. How the courts protect the environment by not ignoring the importance of development to a country will be discussed here. By knowing how environmental issues are dealt with, Malaysia will learn the best practice and adopt the same stance. Environment sustainable development is important to attract investment as many environmental destruction are mainly caused by the commercial industry.If Malaysia can come with the best system that foster environmental and economic worth, this is much appreciated because ecological concerns can no longer be ignored when pursuing development with high consumption of resources extending to the whole of humanity. By heeding to this only can environmental and economic breakdown be saved. |
