Summary: | Cultural heritage is an expression of the ways of living originated by a populace and inherited from one generation to another generation.Therefore, UNESCO had put a lot of effort to protect and grant several locations as World Heritage Site from being destroyed by prohibited people. Even though there are many mobile applications that provide information about cultural heritage already exist in the market, but the information are fixed and not being constantly updated and also facing the challenge to modify the content directly. Besides, the applications only cover the tangible cultural heritage.A virtual guide application that is Mobile Adaptive Tour of Heritage Sites (MATHS) was developed on iPhone platform to ease the tourists to visit the tangible cultural heritage sites as well as to learn and explore the intangible cultural heritage such as festive events and social practices.In addition, MATHS also integrated with two modules that are 1) public transportation locator and 2)
SOS (distress signal) to provide emergency support such as clinic and police station.The information inside the MATHS is dynamic where the administrator can change the information instantly especially for the intangible cultural heritage and public transportation locator where the information keeps changing from day to day. Finally, the case study of this research
is at Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia typically at the core zone and MATHS has been tested. With this application, the user can gain more valuable knowledge such as the content of tangible and intangible of the cultural heritage at Georgetown,
