description This article is taking a conceptual approach to explore the antecedent variable to Pakistani youths new media use. Although the concept of news media use influence on youths political participation is not new. However, what empirical antecedent really motivates youths behavior of consuming news which further explain political participation is needed to be explored in developed countries context.Moreover, Situated Learning Theory will underpin the study to understand the consequences of conceptoriented family communication patterns on new media use and political participation. Lastly, this paper offered a framework to guide researchers, policymakers and media organizations, on the implications of family communication pattern on new media use and youths political participation.
