সংক্ষিপ্ত: | Rice is a strategic commodity for our country as it is a staple food for Malaysians. Emphasis on increasing the production of domestic rice to ensure adequate supply of rice has been stated in the National Agrofoods Policy, 2011-2020. Increasing rice production through increasing paddy cultivation is not an effective measure, given that land is a limited resource and is facing increasing competition with the industrial sector. Therefore, one of the alternative steps to achieve this target is to apply innovation in the country's rice production in line with the industrial revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). The innovation in question is the Rice Intensification System (SRI). The study was qualitatively conducted, and face-to-face interviews were conducted with SRI practitioners in Peninsular Malaysia. This study found that the factors contributing to the adoption of this technique among farmers were the increase in paddy yields, reduction in production costs, reduction in water use, farmers' health care and encouragement and support and advice from government agencies.
