description Arbitration has become the best-prevailed mechanism to resolve cross-border commercial disputes due to its specialisation, objectivity, and rapidness. The contemporary arbitration practice in the world encourages the increased integration of disruptive technology, such as artificial intelligence (Al), into arbitration. This is because the anticipation will be that Al would generally have more positive than negative consequences on facilitating the resolution process and access to justice for the parties to the arbitration. Based on S. W. 0. T analysis, this article seeks to scrutinise the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the horizon of employing Al in arbitration in Malaysia. Both primary and secondary data are used and then critically analysed. It finds that using Al in arbitration in Malaysia can be a double-edged sword. Therefore, it is suggested that several efforts must be taken to ensure the successful use of Al in arbitration in Malaysia while maintaining control over it.
