description Physics is always perceived by students as a difficult, dull, and abstract subject with little connection to the real world, despite the fact that technologies are born from the physics of our daily lives. The traditional way of teaching physics and technology is based on teacher-centred of learning, where the teacher talks about a given theory and students are supposed to solve several problems based on this theory. Innovative educational methods should be introduced to increase the motivation and the quality of teaching physics to students. This study focuses on the teaching and learning of BJTM2203 Engineering Science in School of Technology Management and Logistics. The aim of this study is to analyze and evaluate how to transform the traditional classroom into an effective learning space where learning physics is fun and the students are able to develop their problem-solving skills. In order to understand and change the learning process, this study employed an action research approach. It consists of several cycles of plan, action, collect, analyze and reflect. From the findings, a teaching action research framework was developed to assist the lecturer in planning and execute the teaching plan. The research also has proved that active learning is effective learning to improve the students’ understanding of physics concepts and hence increase their final marks in Engineering Science. This study will be significant to lecturers in identifying the right approach to teach Physics or courses that involved calculation
