Kajian ini memperkenalkan satu model pembelajaran interaktif yang baru bernama O-P-A model (Optical, Physical, Acoustic) untuk pembelajaran interaktif untuk memperkasakan pembelajaran aktif. Model baru yang diperkenalkan ini menyumbang kepada perkembangan literatur V-K-A model yang sedia ada untuk pembelajaran aktif. Secara khususnya, kajian ini memfokuskan kepada mengenal pasti faktor-faktor yang menyumbang kepada pembelajaran pasif dalam kursus SCCA2033 Media and Society. Tiga aktiviti telah dilaksanakan menerusi tiga fasa dalam kajian ini dan setiap salah satu aktiviti yang dilaksanakan melibatkan kaedah pembelajaran aktif yang berlainan. Keberkesanan model O-P-A yang diperkenalkan untuk mengatasi masalah pembelajaran pasif dalam kuliah adalah diteliti. Renungan dan penilaian daripada pensyarah dan pelajar dalam perlaksanaan model ini dikumpul dan diteliti. Hasil penilaian kajian ini mendapati tahap keterlibatan pelajar dalam kuliah meningkat khususnya apabila aktiviti ketiga dijalankan yang melibatkan pembelajaran secara interaktif dan aktif. Hasil kajian ini mengesahkan bahawa pembelajaran interaktif dan aktif menghasilkan persekitaran pembelajaran yang positif dan menjurus kepada output pembelajaran yang baik. A critical observation and reflection by the instructor in SCCA 2033 reveals that students are quite passive in class and has somewhat influences the motivation of the lecturer in class delivery. In the similar vein, research on interactive learning has reported that instructors and students find them engaging, and the engagement is expected to increase learning outcomes. The present study introduces a new model namely O-P-A (Optical, Physical and Acoustic) model for interactive learning to enhance active learning. The newly proposed model contributes to extend the current literature of the V-K-A model (Visual, Kinaesthetic and Auditory) for active learning. Specifically, this study focuses on identifying factors that contributes to passive learning in Media and Society. Three activities are implemented at three stages of the research, with each one involves in different approaches and methods to active learning. The impact of the newly proposed O-P-A model in overcoming passive learners in the Media and Society course is also investigated. The reflections and evaluations on the activities and lectures are being collected and accessed. Vast improvement in terms of more engagement and participation among the students are seen in the third activity which involves both interactive and active learning. Our findings confirm that the interactive and active learning approaches create a positive learning environment which induces great outcomes
