Published 2016“…The presence of “YouTube” today provides space for young Muslims seeking religious information in “YouTube”.This information search provides different beliefs perception to the younger generation, especially with the emergence of „Ustaz YouTube‟ that delivers religious information that cannot verify the validity of the information.The objective of this paper is to identify the types of religious information navigated in the “YouTube” and to identify the belief perception of “YouTube” as the source of religious information.This is a qualitative study using focus group interviews with four groups of 31 students from Universiti Utara Malaysia, Muslim Malay ethnic as well as a variety of educational backgrounds.Questions posed to students in the form of open-ended questions and analysis of this study using thematic analysis.The study found that eight informants in first session surf “YouTube” on Islam-related information on Islamic law, lectures, prominent Islamic leaders, current issues, prayers and signs of the apocalypse. …”
