3D shape analysis of scoliosis by Bourigault, E, Jamaludin, A, Clark, E, Fairbank, J, Kadir, T, Zisserman, A

    Published 2023
“…Our objective in this work is to analyse the 3D geometry of the spine and its relationship to the vertebral canal. To this end, we make three contributions: first, we extract the 3D space curve of the spine automatically from low-resolution whole-body Dixon MRIs and obtain coronal, sagittal and axial projections for various degrees of scoliosis; second, we also extract the vertebral canal as a 3D curve from the MRIs, and examine the relationship between the two 3D curves; and third, we measure the angle of rotation of the spine and examine the correlation between this 3D measurement and the 2D curvature of the coronal projection. …”

Distinctive representations for the recognition of curved surfaces using outlines and markings by Forsyth, D, Zisserman, A, Malik, J

    Published 2005
“…In such special cases as polyhedra, surfaces of revolution, general cones, canal surfaces and algebraic surfaces, the geometry can be recovered with varying degrees of success and of ambiguity. …”

Introducing imprévision into French contract law: A paradigm shift in comparative perspective by Lutzi, T

    Published 2016
“…After more than a century of academic debate, the reform of French contract law—the last step of which was taken with ordonnance n° 2016-131 du 10 février 2016—is going to finally overrule the Cour de cassation’s infamous decision in Canal de Craponne, according to which even a 300-year-old contract cannot be modified to accommodate a change of circumstances that has rendered performance significantly more onerous for one of the parties. …”
