Measurement errors induced by retardance deviation in a rotatable retarder fixed polarizer Stokes polarimeter by Dong, Hui, Shum, Ping, Gong, Yandong, Sun, Qizhen

    Published 2014
“…Theoretical results show that the resultant measurement errors of the Stokes vector are determined by the retardance of the retarder, the retardance error and the Stokes vector under test, but are independent of the angular orientations of the retarder and the intensity measurements. Such measurement errors can not be reduced by choosing a set of optimum angular orientations or increasing the measurement number. …”

Are motorways rational from slime mould's point of view? by Adamatzky, Andrew, Akl, Selim, Alonso-Sanz, Ramon, van Dessel, Wesley, Ibrahim, Zuwairie, Ilachinski, Andrew, Jones, Jeff, Kayem, Anne V. D. M., Schubert, Theresa, Yang, Xin-She, Martínez, Genaro J., de Oliveira, Pedro, Prokopenko, Mikhail, Sloot, Peter M. A., Strano, Emanuele

    Published 2013
“…After slime mould spanned all urban areas with a network of its protoplasmic tubes, we extracted a generalised Physarum graph from the network and compared the graphs with an abstract motorway graph using most common measures. The measures employed are the number of independent cycles, cohesion, shortest paths lengths, diameter, the Harary index and the Randić index. …”

Low-profile patch antennas with enhanced horizontal omnidirectional gain for DSRC applications by Liu, Ankang, Lu, Yilong, Huang, Ling

    Published 2018
“…Two antennas achieving omnidirectional and quasi-elliptical radiation patterns are proposed, simulated, and measured. The measured results agree well with the simulated results, and the quasi-elliptical radiation patterns in the horizontal plane of the antenna demonstrate the desirable performance for DSRC applications.…”

An intelligent ISFET sensory system with temperature and drift compensation for long-term monitoring by Chen, D. Y., Chan, Pak Kwong

    Published 2010
“…The compensation results show a maximum time drift of 0.003 pH/°hour (0.166 mV/°hour) at 23°C and an average temperature drift of 0.00049 pH hour°C (0.0245 mV hour°C) for a reference temperature increase from 23°C to 40°C, with the value of the pH solution ranging from 4 to 9 in six-hour measurements. These measured results outperform those of the reported drift reduction techniques, suggesting that the ISFET sensory system using novel compensation can provide significant immunity against temperature change, time drift, and temperature drift, which are favorable towards robust measurements in environmental monitoring applications.…”
