“…Therefore, from an ecocritical perspective, this paper will examine two Chinese eco- documentary films, Zhao Liang's "Behemoth" and Zhang Zanbo's "The Road," both of which were released in 2015 and both of which are about the dangers of China's high development on human beings and the environment. Firstly, based on the comparative studies of Chinese and Western ecological philosophies, this paper discusses how the ecological issues presented in the documentaries show the evolution of the "mutually beneficial" relationship between human and nature, as well as the alienation of the relationship between human and society. …”
