Control of adipogenesis by the autocrine interplays between angiotensin 1–7/mas receptor and angiotensin II/AT1 receptor signaling pathways
Published 2013“…The autocrine regulation of the AngII/AT1-ACE2-Ang(1-7)/Mas axis upon adipogenesis has also been revealed. …”

Remote digital cognitive assessment reveals cognitive deficits related to hippocampal atrophy in autoimmune limbic encephalitis: a cross-sectional validation study
Published 2024“…The global score on the online cognitive tasks correlated significantly with the established Addenbrooke’s Cognitive Examination III (ACE) pen-and-paper test. Deficits in visuospatial processing and language were identified in ALE compared to controls using remote digital testing but not using the ACE, highlighting higher sensitivity of computerised testing to residual cognitive impairment. …”

Covid-19 antibody discovery with topology-enhanced learning models
Published 2022“…The impact of variants on infectivity and monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) effectiveness is largely determined by how related receptor-binding domain (RBD) mutations affect ACE2 and antibody binding. Topological Data Analysis (TDA) is a fast-growing field combining topology and computational geometry to retrieve features from high-dimensional datasets. …”

Rapid and Scalable Production of Functional SARS-CoV-2 Virus-like Particles (VLPs) by a Stable HEK293 Cell Pool
Published 2024“…Our particles were functional as they specifically entered the cell that naturally expresses ACE-2. Notably, this work reports a practical and cost-effective manufacturing platform for scalable SARS-CoV-2 VLPs production and chromatographic purification.…”

Finding transcription factor binding motifs for coregulated genes by combining sequence overrepresentation with cross-species conservation
Published 2013“…We applied the method to 35 S. cerevisiae transcriptional factors with known DNA binding motifs (with the support of orthologous sequences from genomes of S. mikatae, S. bayanus, and S. paradoxus), and the proposed method outperformed the single-genome-based motif finding methods MEME and AlignACE as well as the multiple-genome-based methods PHYME and Footprinter for the majority of these transcriptional factors. …”

SARS-CoV-2 evolution during treatment of chronic infection
Published 2021“…The spike protein of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is critical for virus infection through the engagement of the human ACE2 protein1 and is a major antibody target. Here we show that chronic infection with SARS-CoV-2 leads to viral evolution and reduced sensitivity to neutralizing antibodies in an immunosuppressed individual treated with convalescent plasma, by generating whole-genome ultra-deep sequences for 23 time points that span 101 days and using in vitro techniques to characterize the mutations revealed by sequencing. …”
