Framenet and its Limitations. The Case of Entity-Specific Change-of-State Verbs by Andreea Rosca

    Published 2014-01-01
“…We have identified several limitations in this database: (i) only a small number of entity-specific change-of¬state verbs were listed in FrameNet (eight out of twenty-one verbs); (ii) there is a separation of the causative and inchoative uses of a verb into two different frames; (iii) in some cases no examples are provided for the Frame Elements of a particular verb (e.g. there are no examples for the verb swell in the ‘expansion’ and ‘change of position on a scale’ frames); (iv) usually FrameNet includes literal instantiations of the predicates under consideration and when figurative uses are listed no cognitive motivation is given for these metaphorical expressions; (v) often frames are incomplete owing to the use of a small size corpus (i.e. the British National Corpus), which offers a limited number of examples for a given verb. …”

Politics and Religion in Montenegro—From “Theocracy” to a Civic State by Danijela Vuković-Ćalasan, Rajka Đoković

    Published 2023-02-01
“…The concept of state religion and the period dominated by features of Caesaropapism was replaced by a period of modernisation of the state that gave rise to a separation of political and religious elements. The period of authoritarian socialism, in turn, led to the ideological suppression of religion. …”

PENDEKATAN FUNGSI DISKRIMINAN UNTUK PENAKSIRAN ODDS RATIO by , LAILATUL MASFUFAH, , Prof. Dr. Sri Haryatmi, M.Sc.

    Published 2012
“…The include improvements in term of bias and efficiency based on unbiased estimator of the log odds ratio, as well as the availability of an estimate when logistic regression fails to converge due to a separation of data point. Use of the discriminant Function approach as described here for multivariable analysis requiresless stringent assumptions than those for which it was historically criticized, and is worth considering when odds ratio associated with particular continous predictor is of primary interest. …”

Multicellularity in animals: the potential for within-organism conflict by Howe, J, Rink, J, Wang, B, Griffin, AS

    Published 2022
