    “…Nos âcasos não tuberculoseâ avaliámos também o destino dado às pessoas.Verificámos que há diferenças de acesso e acessibilidade entre os dois CDPâs, que a tuberculose representa, respectivamente, 39,7% e 37,8% dos casos inscritos como 1ªs consultas e que há, nos âcasos não tuberculoseâ, um número significativo de altas por doença pulmonar não confirmada ou por perdido de vista da observação, o que nos leva a questionar os critérios de envio destes utentes à consulta dos CDPâs.REV PORT PNEUMOL 2001; VII (6): ABSTRACT: Considering the permanent introduction of measures to improve accessibility to the National Health Service, as responsibles for Venda Nova (CDPVN) and Alameda (CDPA) Chest Disease Centers, we decided to do a retrospective study to evaluate what is really happening in our two Centers.We revued all clinical records of people who went, for the first time, to our consultation during 1999, corresponding to 1637 records (764 in CDPVN and 873 in CDPA).âTuberculosis casesâ were evaluated separately from ânon-tuberculosis casesâ.Along with demographic data, we also evaluated time elapsed between booking and accomplishment of the first consultation, who sent the people to our Centers and the relationship with their General Practitioner / Health Center.In the âtuberculosis casesâ, besides form of presentation, we also evaluated the time elapsed between the beginning of the complaints and the accomplishment of any first consultation, were was the diagnosis done and which was the time elapsed between the beginning of complaints and beginning of treatment. …”
