Investigation of polycapillary half lenses for quantitative confocal micro-X-ray fluorescence analysis by Michael Iro, Dieter Ingerle, Martin Radtke, Ana Guilherme Buzanich, Peter Kregsamer, Christina Streli

    Published 2022-11-01
“…The energy-dependent transmission properties, concerning intensity and spatial beam propagation of three polycapillary half lenses, which are vital for the quantitative interpretation of such CMXRF measurements, are investigated in a monochromatic confocal laboratory setup at the Atominstitut of TU Wien, and a synchrotron setup on the BAMline beamline at the BESSY II Synchrotron, Helmholtz-Zentrum-Berlin. The empirically established results, concerning the intensity of the transmitted beam, are compared with theoretical values calculated with the polycap software package and a newly presented analytical model for the transmission function. …”

Ni/Al-Hybrid Cellular Foams: An Interface Study by Combination of 3D-Phase Morphology Imaging, Microbeam Fracture Mechanics and In Situ Synchrotron Stress Analysis by Jutta Luksch, Anne Jung, Christoph Pauly, Ralf Derr, Patrick Gruenewald, Marc Laub, Manuela Klaus, Christoph Genzel, Christian Motz, Frank Mücklich, Florian Schaefer

    Published 2021-06-01
“…The critical energy for interfacial decohesion from these microbending fracture tests in the scanning electron microscope (SEM) were contrasted to and the results validated by depth-resolved measurements of the evolving stresses in the Ni coating during three-point bending tests at the energy-dispersive diffraction (EDDI) beamline at the synchrotron BESSY II. Such a multi-method assessment of the interface decohesion resistance with respect to the interface morphology provides a reliable investigation strategy for further improvement of the interface morphology.…”

From branchings to flows: a study of an Edmonds' like property to arc-disjoint branching flows by Cláudio Carvalho, Jonas Costa, Raul Lopes, Ana Karolinna Maia, Nicolas Nisse, Cláudia Sales

    Published 2023-05-01
“…An s-branching flow f in a network N = (D, u), where u is the capacity function, is a flow thatreaches every vertex in V(D) from s while loosing exactly one unit of flow in each vertex other thans. Bang-Jensen and Bessy [TCS, 2014] showed that, when every arc has capacity n − 1, a network Nadmits k arc-disjoint s-branching flows if and only if its associated digraph D contains k arc-disjoints-branchings. …”
