Grandfathering and the Endowment Effect An Assessment in the context of the Spanish National Allocation Plan by Ellerman, A. Denny, Reguant, Mar

    Published 2009
“…We investigate whether generating firms were influenced in their operational decisions by the initial amount of grandfathered emissions in the trial period of the European Union Emission Trading Scheme (EU-ETS). Short-term CO₂ abatement in the European power sector by Delarue, Erik D., Ellerman, A. Denny, D'haeseleer, W. D.

    Published 2009
“…The model E-Simulate is used to simulate the electricity generation in Europe as a means of both gaining insight into the process of fuel switching and estimating the abatement in the power sector during the first trading period of the European Union Emission Trading Scheme. Abatement is shown to depend not only on the price of allowances, but also and more importantly on the load level of the system and the ratio between natural gas and coal prices. …”

How does the air pollution prevention and control action plan affect sulfur dioxide intensity in China? by Shuhai Niu, Yidong Chen, Ruiwen Zhang, Yanchao Feng

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Based on the data from 271 prefecture-level cities between 2008 and 2018, the difference-in-differences model is used to explore the effect of it on sulfur dioxide intensity in our study, and several significant results are as follows: (1) The baseline results suggest a 23% reduction in sulfur dioxide intensity in pilot cities compared to non-pilot cities. (2) The total factor productivity fails to play a partial mediating role in reducing the sulfur dioxide intensity under the implementation of the policy. (3) The results of the triple differences model suggest that the policy still exerts significant adverse effects on sulfur dioxide intensity in the pilot areas of the carbon emission trading scheme.…”
