Thermal characteristics of spent activated carbon generated from air cleaning units in korean nuclear power plants by Ji-Yang So, Hang-Rae Cho

    Published 2017-06-01
“…Through py-GC/MS analysis based on the result of TGA, we found that activated carbon loses weight rapidly with moisture desorption reaching to 100°C and desorbs various organic and inorganic carbon compounds reaching to 200°C. The result of pyrolysis analysis showed that the experiment of C-14 desorption using thermal treatment technology requires at least 3 steps of heat treatment, including a heat treatment at high temperature over 850°C, in order to reduce the C-14 concentration below the clearance level.…”

Low Abundance of Methanotrophs in Sediments of Shallow Boreal Coastal Zones With High Water Methane Concentrations by Elias Broman, Elias Broman, Xiaole Sun, Christian Stranne, Christian Stranne, Christian Stranne, Marco G. Salgado, Stefano Bonaglia, Stefano Bonaglia, Marc Geibel, Martin Jakobsson, Martin Jakobsson, Alf Norkko, Alf Norkko, Christoph Humborg, Christoph Humborg, Francisco J. A. Nascimento, Francisco J. A. Nascimento

    Published 2020-07-01
“…Coastal zones are transitional areas between land and sea where large amounts of organic and inorganic carbon compounds are recycled by microbes. Especially shallow zones near land have been shown to be the main source for oceanic methane (CH4) emissions. …”
